Or is it more of a situationship?

“The grass is greener where you water it.”

In any relationship, we get out of it what we put in. This doesn’t stop us from wondering if it’d be better somewhere else, or with someone else, or if that couple you know are really as happy as they look. We may get trapped in the fantasy of the perfect partner, or the perfect relationship.

Admittedly, it’s confusing. Relationship psychologists and happily married couples are quick to admit, “relationships take work.” Expert researchers at The Gottman Institute who have been studying long term couples for fifty plus years claim 69% of all relationship problems are unsolvable. In other words, all relationships will have things you don’t like. And you can keep switching partners like musical chairs, hoping to find problems that are compatible with yours, as long as you’re willing to accept around 69% of all arguments in any relationship will stay unresolved.

On the other end of the spectrum, you hear that relationships should be easy, and you’ll just know. You’ll accept their flaws.

One thing is certain- perfect doesn’t exist, and the idea of perfect is a major cock block.

The Common Denominator is You
