They Don’t Have to Like You, You Have to Like You

Are you obsessed with being liked? Do you change your personality depending on who’s around? Is it your mission to change the mind of someone who doesn’t like you? Do you make decisions based on how others will perceive you?

Learn to be ok with people not liking you. Getting everyone on your team is an impossible goal, and a surefire way towards resentments, and exhaustion. You also lose out on real, meaningful connections with people who relate to the real you.

Becoming your authentic self, even if that means occasionally being disliked, sets you free. You free yourself from the expectations of others, and it opens you up to deeper fulfillment in your life. It also allows you to be seen, accepted, and loved as the real you, and not just some washed out version.

Your deepest, most fulfilling connections will be forged with the people who get to meet and see the real you. Relationships that require you to wear a mask will not last.

“You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world, and there’s still going to be someone hates peaches.” -Dita Von Teese

Magic happens in that moment where you say, “fuck it! So what, who cares! I am who I am!” Every time you say, no, I will not work…
